VISITING DOMOTEX 2023
Hello dear friends, happy new year to all of you!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and are ready for the new year’s adventures.
I’m jumping into 2023 with an annual visit to DOMOTEX.
As before the corona times, I’m excited to be invited to report from the world’s leading trade fair for carpet and floor coverings. The fair takes place in Hannover from 12 to 15 January and I am very much looking forward to get inspired by all the the new design ideas by exhibiting companies and participating guests.
The Domotex keynote theme this year is “FLOORED BY NATURE” focusing around the fascination that nature exerts on all of us – why natural materials are important, reconnecting with nature, being more mindful towards our environment.
Together with my dear friend, creative design expert Holly Becker and a group of bloggers we will tour the fairgrounds of Domotex, scouting for the latest trends from the flooring world. We will search for the innovative, fresh and beautiful ideas and post them daily on Instagram so keep an eye on the stories coming.
What are the Domotex special exhibitions this year ?
1/Mood spaces
The mood spaces are inspiring room installations which are a great source of current trends for anyone visiting the fair. Curated under the direction of Holly Becker, we will have a chance to see 5 mood spaces by international architects and designers. (Hall 2)
2/ Carpet design awards
Domotex will honour the world’s most beautiful designer carpets in eight categories. I can’t wait to see those after viewing the quick preview.
3/Boden schatze
The special exhibit by the students of the textile design course at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. In consultation with the students, TISCA brand is the one producing the final carpets. Very much looking forward to share with you my final picks from the Boden schatze project.
