Salone del Mobile 2015 – general info

saloni2This year I will finally make it to the Salone del Mobile, a place to be for all the design-lovers. I really can’t wait to be there so I thought I would share with you the general information, useful for all of us who are coming!

Happening from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th April (from 9:30-6:30 each day), at the Rho Milan Fairgrounds, Salone will be split into three design categories : modern, classic and design across different pavilions:

  • The International Furnishing Accessories – dedicated to the general interior products.
  • SaloneSatellite – dedicated to 700 young designers  selected from all over the world,  theme  “Life Planet”, dovetailing with that of EXPO 2015: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
  • Euroluce / International lighting exhibition – dedicated to lighting solutions.
  • Workspace 3.0 –  dedicated to workspace organization.

Two installations you can’t miss:

1. To celebrate the year of light Milan will host an installation FAVILLA by architect Attilio Stocchi in Piazza San Fedele telling the story of light (sounds interesting, right?)

2. The Walk – a huge installation on exhibit inside, made by Michele De Lucchi (Pavilions 22-24 Workspace 3.0)

Apart from the general exhibition, there are numerous events happening around Milan – Fuorisalone with  a lot of events to choose from including product launches and design talks  so do check what are your favorite brands or places offering this year.
