One of my goals for the future is to gather a budget big enough to be able to walk into my favorite galleries and buy Art right of the walls, but until then, I have to find alternative ways to decorate my home. I’m sure you’ve noticed that recently there is a huge demand for a, minimalitic, blurry looking Art. The kind of Art, which makes you think – ‘I can do it! Maybe I could try painting it myself’.
I have to be honest – I’ve been tempted for a while to get some white canvas and search inner artist in me, but it wasn’t easy to start, kind of like before driving a car for the first time – you know what everything is for, but it takes a while to use it well! Do you get the same feeling? I’ve been sitting in my studio, with the canvas ready in front of me, thinking – where the heck do I start? And then I just did it.
I know, it’s not Picasso but I really like the blurry, 3d effect I achived. I even gave it a proud name – ‘raindrops’, that’s at least what I see in it, a dreamy, rainy scene. But then I asked at home what everyone else sees and my vision crashed! “Tire marks, sousages?” Seriously?! Apparently my boyfriend has a true artistic soul! I should have probably kept his vision to myself but I find it too funny not to share. What would you call it? Just please don’t tell me it’s a salami!
I squeezed out a drop of dark blue paint on a piece of paper and run the roller applicator through it. Then I painted the pattern on the white sheet of paper. It is important that you start with a drop of paint – as this is how you create the ‘drop looking’ design. You can view full tutorial on Homedit here.

Love it! Yes I tried my hand at being an artist, and I have to say I had similar reactions from family and friends, mostly just asking what its meant to be, but its still on my wall and makes for after dinner conversation, even it it is just to take the mickey out of me. LOL. here’s mine.

Wow Samantha yours is really beautiful! I’m a huge fan of this kind of ombre effect and you really mastered it. Before I created my ‘rain aka salami art’ I have painted something similar but other way round (darker part down). I’m sure my friends will taking the mickey out of me too but even if I painted Da Vinci they still would! That’s juts how it is haha Have a great day!

It reminds me of the sand at the beach when the tide rolls back out and the water and the tiny sand crabs leaves these little divots in the sand creating lines and patterns.
