Good evening dear friends, how is your week going so far?
I am back in the studio after few days in Germany, ready to report my first impressions from the flooring fair – Domotex, which I attended this weekend with a group of international design bloggers. Together with a special guest and book author, also my friend Holly Becker we’ve been invited to the fair to share our view on working with brands and upcoming lifestyle and design trends. Curious to hear more? I hope you are, but where do I start telling you all about it?
Well, let me tell you… it was amazing!
Domotex is much bigger than I imagined, packed with rugs from all around the world, inspiring, fun, extremely well organized, great people, located in the vibrant Hannover, where we shared many unforgettable moments at the fair and around city!
ON THE FIRST DAY
Morning: After a quick introduction to the Domotex ‘Framing Trends’ area with our special bloggers booth, we were on stage discussing How To Collaborate With Bloggers To Market Your Products led by our moderator: Holly Becker from Decor8. A part of our collaboration with Domotex was to share our experience and concept behind the brand-blogger projects – what, why, how?
You can find more about my personal ways in the services section.
From the left: Niki / My Scandinavian Home, Igor / Happy Interiors Blog. me / Passion Shake, Stefan / Trend Stefan, Desiree / Vogesparis and Mette / Monsterscircus.
Afternoon: After a quick lunch we’ve participated in the organized blogger tour visiting various stands selected for us, it was truly inspiring to learn about many different techniques and textiles used to create unique pieces.
1/ Rug Star – Rugs created with passion where traditional, handmade methods meet contemporary design, resulting in vibrant, eye-catching pieces. Rugs are often talked about as being an art form (I’m sure you’ve seen rugs hanging on the walls!) a point of view that Rug Star’s work reaffirms.
2/ Mariantonia Urru – My personal favourite from the tour, nominated as one of the best Rugs designs in the Domotex Award Contest, the brand’s handicraft is truly unique and incredibly stylish, driven by variety of weaving techniques and the traditional motifs. Instant love!
3/ Hossein Rezvani – The most luxurious rugs we’ve had a chance to see – one rug takes up to 7 months, 6 million handmade knots per square meter to complete. The quality is unbeatable, I hope I can treat myself one day to this type of rug at home (Lifegoals!)
4/ Rug and Kilim – A wide selection of kilims, best known and most popular traditional flatweaves. Great, affordable rugs which will bring a touch of oriental style to any home.
I strongly recommend to check all of them out!
Straight after the tour, we were back on stage discussing Our view On The Latest Interior and Lifestyle Trends. Each of us presented a collection of pictures showing recent tendencies in the world of design. Considering all of our blogs have different focus, style and background it was interesting to see we’ve had similar vision on what is trending right now.
ON THE SECOND DAY
We were out and about Hannover, visiting best cafes, concept stores, shops and botanical gardens! What’s a better way to spend day with bloggers than explore the hottest spots in town?
I will be back to share more from our stay in Hannover including my favourite stand from Domotex and city tips so stay tuned!
Have a good evening friends!
