If you visited my blog lately, you probably noticed the new series – MADE IN POLAND in which I am sharing great finds, product designs, stylists, interior tours from my home country. Polish design is quickly coming into its own and that makes me very proud.
Today I’m very excited to introduce you to a special lady whom I’ve been admiring for years – a talented designer, crafts(wo)man, stylist, concept shop owner, passionate DIY-er, a blogger with a beautiful home – Agnieszka from Agnetha Home. Aga’s keen eye for detail and aesthetics results in gorgeous minimal glass and metal designs which are not only beautiful but also functional. Although I have to admit – the beauty aspects alone stole my heart long time ago. Does everything have to be functional? Sometimes it’s reasonable to admire objects only for how happy they make us feel when we look at them and how special they are to us. Anyhow, most of Aga’s creations do meet everyday needs – a glass box we can use for displaying objects or storage, mirrors, food trays or lanterns.
In Agnieszka’s lifestyle magazine ‘Alike’ she talks about her approach towards creative business, slow design and traditional craftsmanship and how to keep a good balance between work, passion and everyday life (unfortunately magazine is only in polish but I do recommend to have a look as photography is stunning!).
Agnieszka’s checklist for those running their own creative buisness from home is to: make a break for a proper meal (guilty!), do not take work to bed with you, no emails or bank account checking before going to sleep (guilty!), take good care of your mood – if you are feeling tired or lacking focus, go for a walk to relax and look for inspiration (guilty!) and… make everything as if it’s for your friend (uff, one thing I do!)
Do you run your own business? Do you follow these rules? I should probably follow all the points. Let me try from tomorrow on!
