30 and engaged!

What you think is happening, is happening – I’m 30 and getting married! The title kind of gave it away, I know, but there’s a whole story behind it, which I can’t stop talking (and thinking) about so naturally have to share with you! Unless, of course you are not into romantic updates, then you can skip this post and check out latest interior inspiration*

*please don’t, I really want you to live this moment with me!

As you might remember we have planned to spend our 2-weeks Holiday break in my hometown Poznań in Poland, mainly due to many important occasions we couldn’t miss – 2 weddings, 1 Hen do, family meetings, friends reunions and 2 Birthday Parties including my own big 30. Ha! I wasn’t planning to make it huge but it surely turned out to be the biggest and most unforgettable Party ever. Main reason being – he proposed to me and I said yes!

1 day before the Birthday Party

I woke up on a Friday Morning, feeling relaxed and happy having it all under control – few months back I had booked a beautiful Loft venue for the Party with a rooftop terrace overlooking the city. I invited my friends, planned decorations, ordered food, drinks, cakes, lanterns, balloons, had my Loft-theme Party outfit ready… when suddenly my phone rang, and I found out that there was a problem with the venue, meaning – I could no longer host my Party there.

Just. imagine. my. reaction. That’s right – panic attack would be an underestimate!

I spent weeks, planning the details, imagining the Party, crossing the fingers to make it all work, then 1 day earlier I ended up without a venue, with a chance to find a similar spot – close to zero. I had 24h to figure out a new plan. Luckily after a (very long and exhausting) day of desperate search we found a new place. A miracle! It was neither big, nor loft-looking like, but trust me, at that point the aesthetics were the last thing to care about. I felt relieved, I didn’t have to cancel the Party.

The Birthday Party

The pre-organisation went according to the new plan, however most of the decorations didn’t match (and fit!) so they remained unpacked. Some of my friends arrived earlier to help us with the food and restyling the place as much as we could to fit the Party needs. It wasn’t easy, mainly due to the limited space but we made it – the Birthday started as planned at 8pm. Buzzing atmosphere, amazing people, awesome gifts, drinks and laughter, a good start to a great night! If only I knew at this point how great it would be and what was about to happen.

engagamentI swear I had no clue! I suspected he might have a Birthday surprise for me as he acted strange all day. I have to admit I am not a fan of all-things-unexpected as I am a planner-freak myself… but this one time, I could not imagine a more beautiful scenerio! About 9 pm when all the guests arrived, Felice asked everyone to garther in a main room. Suddenly my family appeared at the door, the happy buzz disappeared, I heard “the only girl” in the background and before I had a chance to think what was about to happen…..

……..he got on one knee and asked me to marry him!

will youI don’t remember well what he said, I only saw the look on his face which made me extremely emotional – I was so shocked, excited and surprised…that the memory of this moment still feels like a dream! When I said yes, I heared clap and people singing, a pop of champagne bottle and the incredible joy filling the air…it was just perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better night, filled with my family, friends and fiancée. Oh dear, fiancée – it sounds so serious!

For those of you who don’t know us, our relationship has begun in London, when we both worked in the same company – what started as a friendship, soon became a love story and I knew I met a person who would change my world forever. 6  years have passed since those days, and now I’m very much looking forward to more (and more, and moooore!)

PicMonkey CollageSo…we are getting married guys! Everyone is asking about the big day and wedding plans, and I have no clue where to start! I have an idea what style/decoration I would like to have (it would be quite strange if this thought never crossed my mind!) but apart from that – I’m lost, so if you guys have any advice, I’m all ears!

Where to look for inspiration? How to plan and organize a wedding? Am I asking too much?

I’m so excited!
