There’s something magical about photographing a space that feels like a story — one you can step into. Recently, I had the joy of capturing interiors that truly tell one: a series of boutique apartments in Montenegro – LA LAGUNA. Designed by my dear friend — Sandra, a designer I first met in Milan, then shared countless adventures around Europe.
Her design touch has always amazed me, but seeing it come to life here, on the coast felt different. A true masterpiece of calm design and attention to detail. The apartments are located a few steps from the beach, where the water sparkles in impossible shades of turquoise, and the air carries that perfect mix of salt, sun, and olive trees.
La Laguna
There are eight apartments in total — each one unique, but all sharing that signature sense of balance: minimal yet warm, sophisticated yet effortless. Every corner feels considered, from the soft curtains gently moving in the wind to the handpicked decorations that catch the morning light.
I stayed in the rooftop apartment, where the view of the sea greets you right from the bed — and yes, it’s exactly as dreamy as you can see in the pictures. In the evenings, you can enjoy glass of local wine in the spacious terrace and watch the sun melt into the horizon.
The apartments are set among olive groves, with lounge chairs tucked between the trees – a perfect spot to read, nap, or simply do nothing (which, let’s be honest, is an underrated luxury). Whether you’re craving a quiet escape, a stylish base to explore Montenegro, or a bit of both, this place delivers.
And when you’re ready for a little history and culture, the old city of Bar is just a short drive away — an atmospheric blend of stone street, mountain views, and ancient ruins that contrast beautifully with the calm rhythm of the coast.
Photographing this place wasn’t just another project – it was a little escape in itself.
Sunshine, sea breeze, the best company, and spaces that practically glow in natural light… what more could I ask for?
