Blankets by Studio Nienke Hoogvliet

3Do you ever feel like staying on a sofa and hide under the blanket? I actually like this kind of days from time to tme. Sspecially when it’s raining outside and I can stay in and read a book.

Nienke Hoogvliet the Dutch designer behind the Hide blankets sees them as a metaphor for feeling protected. The designs are inspired by the concept of skin, as it borders our inner world from the outside one. To capture the organic feel of skin, Nienke worked with natural materials like mohair, linen and cotton, and drew each pattern by hand to make them irregular and unique. I think that the name ‘Hide’ captures it all: conceal, cover and skin.

6They’ve caught my eye already when I saw them for the first time in the beautiful home of Holly Marder, but I only came across the source today. I guess I can call it a complete and happy hunt!

Which one do you like most? I guess I would go for the grey one suprisingly! Although, you know me – pink is always a good choice!

You can get them from Meesterlijk here.

  1. These blankets are truly amazing. I’d take the light pink one – or, even better – I’d move right into the white and wood room with the blanket so lovely displayed.
    Thanks for sharing!
