FUSICS 2018 – Function, Urbanism, Sustainability, Illumination, Connectivity, Social experience – all that and so much more!
Good morning readers! How are you doing?
If you follow my Instagram account you know that last weekend I was in Berlin, attending SCHOTT CERAN® & sisterMAG event – FUSICS 2018, organized to celebrate the reveal of the new cooktop innovations. Oh boy, sisterMAG team surely knows how to style an event and make everyone feel welcome so I am very greatful I had a chance to take part in it.
On Saturday Morning, after short but deep sleep at the Frederics Berlin Hotel, together with a group of fellow international bloggers and Christiane (SCHOTT CERAN® host), we visited sisterMAG beautifully styled studio where we had a chance to get to know each other, enjoy yummy breakfast and admire the floral arrangement created in collaboration with BotanicArt.
(I wish all my days could start in this way!)
Christina from SCHOTT CERAN® & the lovely sisters, introduced us to the exciting program they prepared for us – Berlin (Wedding district) tour, Photography and Styling Workshop, Fusics cooktop presentation followed by a cocktail event and IFA 2018 exclusive tour (on day 2). Intense, yet we were all very excited!
During our Berlin Tour, except must-see landscapes and trending city spots (churches, community gardens) we visited the local artists’ studios to get a sneek peek into their workspaces and learn about the creative process behind their designs. What caught my eye were the geometric sculptures by Jacob Roepke. Minimal, mountain-looking like objects play with the light, whether from the side or from above, creating mysterious labirynth of shadows. A simple yet truly beautiful addition to the wall changing its look depending on the time of the day and lighting situation. A great example of ‘less is more’!
After the Berlin tour we returned to the sisterMAG studio for a sustainable lunch gathering. Carefully selected recipies, local ingrediets and resulted in fusion of taste we enjoyed while chatting & laughing under the gorgeous floral installation. What a treat!
Then the Styling and photography worshop took place. Guided by Cris Santos and Audrey Cosson we got to test and experiment with the food and surfaces, styling our food photos on the SCHOTT CERAN® Miradur. Hard as a diamond it is resistant to any scratches (tested while styling! See that salt?)
In the late afternoon we’ve moved to ewerk Berlin where the we attanded the SCHOTT CERAN® Fusics 2018 event, dedicated to presenting cooktop glass ceramic in a new light! Quite literally. The new induction series EXCITE is all about innovative lighting solutions making cooking not only good-looking but also fun. Special materials and coatings mean new possibilities : on the cooktop and control panels, as burner borders and displays. You can read more tech news here. The evening continued in the mysterious location, followed by music, drinks and light-infused photography experiments.
Our second day in Berlin was dedicated to meeting SCHOTT CERAN® Partners at IFA 2018 (Grundig, Siemens Homemade and Miele). I have to admit I’m not a very techy person but what we saw during our fair tour, inspired (and impressed me a lot!)
So what does the cooking space of the future look like you wonder?
Visually striking, the technology offers tech-savvy, style-conscious home owners a chance to give their kitchen futuristic makeover. Exterior knobs and buttons will be completely eliminated thanks to its incredible Projection Technology and SCHOTT CERAN® Innovations. Transforming an ordinary counter-top into an intuitive work surface, enabling us to do anything from viewing a recipe (can you imagine?) on their kitchen surface to playing music! Don’t you think that cooking will be so much more fun with these new functions?
To sum up, it’s been incredible experience with awe-inspiring technology which definitaly changed my view on the future of food gatherings. Big thank you to sistserMAG and & SCHOTT CERAN® for the invitation and all the lovely bloggers and participants to make these days so special.

This is a lovely post, Agata, I especially loved seeing the photos of you in your element, was very fresh. I think my favorite was the one of you styling with those veggies. So good! I know you love that stuff!!! Glad you enjoyed being in Germany again – see you soon in Sweden.
