Living room progress with wall color by Farrow and Ball

Happy New Week friends! How was your weeked?

I am having very intense period in terms of both work and home organisation and it seems like 24 hours are simpy not enough. Do you know the feeling? Can anyone tell me where can I buy some time, please?

To make the best of the few minutes I have free, I wanted to check in and show you some progress that we’ve made in our living room. It’s still a (VERY) long way to go but since you told me you like to see how rooms come together, I need to show you piece by piece, right?

So here’s what we’ve done so far:

1/ WALL COLOR – We painted the walls with Blackened by Farrow and Ball and I couldn’t be more happy with the result, it’s a delicate, cool grey shade which looks very nice in our quite bright living room. I’ve been enjoying the F&B paints for a while, they chalky finish makes the wall look cosy yet sophisticated with just the right amount of pigments. I’ve tested few of their colors already – blackened (here), cornforth white, mole’s breath, downpipe, all white….each time I’m very happy with the result. It is the paint brand I know that makes sure each color looks good so you won’t end up with unnatural, strange looking shades.

2/ SOFA – Sofa SÖDERHAMN is from IKEA but it is one of those ‘design’ ones which gives a minimal, yet stylish look. You might remember I got the dark grey cover  but I didn’t particulary liked the way it looked it our home so after listening to your suggestions, I changed it for the ‘white’ one. The color of this one is not actually pure white, more like very light grey which turned out to be a great choice as it creates nice, gradual color palette with the wall. Coffee table is temporary, until we decide what we would like (I’m thinking either marble or black)

3/ LIGHTING – Ahh the lamp, a great example when design becomes art. It’s been on my wishlist since the first time I saw it but the due to the high price  I was waiting for a special occasion, like moving to a new place, to get it. It’s here and every time I look at it, I am in love!

What we are missing? Everything else: curtains, a rug, coffee tables, shelves, cupboards, armchairs, plants, art just to name a few things.

I will keep you updated as we move forward!

Have a great weekend!

I enjoyed reading your post. I love the lamp shade. Can you please share with us where it came from? I would love one for my dining room. Many thanks.

The room is looking great, very calming. Did you go for FB All White on the ceiling, woodwork and radiator?

      Hi there,

Only the walls 🙂 The ceiling was painted by previous owners (I suppose normal white paint), woodwork and radiator is in its natural color.
