Every year, Milan Design Week features eye catching pop-up shops which attract us not only with a curated display and interesting interiors but also with a selection of lifestyle and design items ready to buy. One of the pop-up shops worth visiting this year will be T-STYLE POP-UP, located in the Tortona zone offering the best of Thai design.
We can find there lifestyle accessories, fashion, handcrafted designs and culturally unique items, created by over 30 Thai brands that have joined the project. It will be open from 17th to 22nd April in via Tortona 5 from 10.30 to 21.00. Its products will be sold online through Designplatz – the platform where design creators meet fans.
If you are around, stop by for a taste of Thai design, local sweets and a flavoured coffee, I’m sure it will be a pleasent experience! This project is the first of three events organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion during the Milan Design Week 2018, with a goal to support and promote young designers and entrepreneursin the European market.
Another place to discover Thai design will be Thai Popism event in Via Watt 15. Some of my favourite items showcased will be:
1/ Epoch ceramic collection – inspired by the elements of ancient pottery.
2/ Saturn ceiling lamp – a chandelier in the form of a beautiful wooden lampshade, can fit into just about any classic, vintage or minimalistic style.
3/ Sunrise wall clock – a clock inspired by the moment the sun rises from the sea in the morning, a daily wondrous phenomena getting us ready for every new day.
Wishing you all Happy Design Week!
