Ok, guys I’m back with another Styling tip but before we start I have a very important question to ask you:
While browsing Printerest or following your favourite Instagram accounts do you pay attention to the details in the images you like?
Do you analyze what’s in the photos?
If you are interested in styling and photography you probably realized that many images we see online or in the magazines are styled and shot with different backgrounds. They might look like marble, wood, concrete, linen, rough textures or even plain white surfaces. That’s because stylists and photographers do need many different options to get interesting results (and not get bored!) Those options certainly don’t mean we have 10 kitchen counters at home with different surfaces (unless someone has a very big kitchen – not me!) Thankfully there is a great alternative to get very realistic, high quality textures which can serve as backgrounds. My latest discovery is ArtaFlloor and their vinyl selection, so I teamed up with them to show you how I use them and why they very quickly stole my heart:
Why do I love them?
- Atrafloor is a durable printed vinyl flooring where we can order our custom design and size (I like to have 1,5 m x 1,5 m but 1m x 1m is enough).
- They are resistent to any prop-mess us stylist can create on top of it, resistent to any food stains and water, In other words – those backgrounds last long as they can handle anything what a vinyl floor would handle (and that’s even more than we need). Maybe I should do the live test like one of those in the washing powder ads, when they pour a glass of red wine on the white shirt and then show how it disappears. *laugh* Maybe I can do it on insta stories!
- Their printed textures are realistic – no fake colors or designs – concrete does look like concrete, marble looks like real marble.
- They are very handy, as they roll up, so keeping them at home or in your studio won’t take too much space.
- They are very light to carry (hello location shoots!) Imagine how heavy would be a real concrete panel in size 1,5 m x 1,5 m. With Atrafloor we don’t have to worry about that.
Styling Tip 5: Vinyl Backgrounds
Surfaces: Vinyls from Atrafloor
Props: Lifestyle, Food for small shoots, but also interiors, if you are thinking to get it as a floor.
Below you can see 3 stylings I’ve done using Atrafloor backgrounds, I’m wondering which background is your favourite?
1/ Pale Marble
3/ Mist Stone
You can see all the floors/backgrounds selection on their website. Hope you will find them as useful as I do!
