5 Favourite design finds from Habitare 2016

Habitare 2016

Happy Friday friends! Are you ready for the weekend?

Visiting Habitare fair in Helsinki was very refreshing in terms of original ideas and beautiful, clean Finish design. There were few products which particularly caught my attention. What impresses me the most is the concept behind each project, however to win my heart the result also has to be good-looking! Would you agree?

Below you can find my 5 favourite finds from Habitare 2016, which I would happily take back home with me:

1. Turn around rack and mirror designed by Anna Pirkola and Joel Sipilä – great space-saving idea – By turning 180° you can place it for example in a tiny hallwey, behind the bedroom door or install many of them pushed against the wall, so that when needed you can open them as a book and pick your clothes. The mirror works with the rack as a perfect pair for your wardrobe.

picmonkey-collage2. Lippa shelf designed by Marianne Huotari for Hakola – I have chosen this multifunctional shelving system as my favourite product from Habitare, during our trend talk on stage. Thanks to its lid mechanism, it can be used in many different ways – as a shelving system, nightstand, side table, serving both as functional storage solution and decorative element, giving us more for less. It’s space-saving, transferable and can suit individual needs, allowing the consumer to take part in the creation process.

Tatami modules by Riku Taivonen – really interesting concept – easy to connect, designed for relaxation can be stored by placing them on the wall, where they work as acoustic elements. As with the other products in the family, colours and fabrics can be selected for different purposes.

Habitare 20164. Memo white/black board by Everyday Design –  I am aways on the look out for interesting organizers. This stylish board is designed for a workspace or home. Little pocket is a great organizer/ spot/ place for newspapers and mail and magnet board keeps our keys and notes right front of you.

Habitare 20165. Botanical shelf designed by Riikka Kantinkoski and Pinja Rouger – it’s a combination of payful design and functionality – simple piece of furniture and a multifunctional storage for your plants and other objects.
