Hello everyone, how are you?
I am back from a short break in London where the temperature is much lower than in Italy, but also here, autumn is definitely in the air today. This obviously calls for redecorating! Although the autumn color palette is one of nature’s most beautiful, I believe that the key to introduce it at home, and make it look good, is keeping things simple and minimal. While styling a new trolley for IKEA last week, I have promised to show you a simple DIY garland I created for my bedroom – and today I can finally share it with you! It consists of natural elements and I think looks best against a neutral background — such as a white wall, so that the color really pops. What do you think?
The most enjoyable part of this project was collecting the seasonal elements. First, I decided on a color palette: warm, toasted shades which are very much trending in 2016, including muted reds, terracotta, burgundy and browns — then, I gathered dry leaves from the trees, wild fruits in shades of red, twigs and wheat and turned them into a colorful garland.
To make it, simply place the botanicals along the string and twist the metal wire around their stalks to keep them in place. You can play with the elements and design your own composition to fit your style. Hope you enjoy this project!
What are your favourite ways to decorate for Autumn? Do you like to make seasonal changes?

Thank you so much Clarissa! I really like the pop of color when it comes to fall, especially on a foggy, moody day (like today) colorful leaves look so vibrant! Have a great start of the week x
