Domotex – 10 Instagrammable Things To do In Hannover

Are you ready for the last Domotex post, this time talking about the vibrant Hannover city and it’s instagrammable places?

It’s definitely not a secret that I really enjoyed my stay, together with the amazing group of international bloggers. Our conclusion – Hannover is totally underrated! It’s a beautiful, homey city with many interesting things to see and do, whether you are there for work (like we were) or sighstseeing.

Here are 10 Instagrammable Things you can do in Hannover:

1/ Rent apartment with a city view (for example through Airbnb) – the old town view in the morning from the 5th floor was breathtaking!

2/ Eat breakfast at Lieb.es or Cafe Marie– great interiors and yummy food!

3/ Walk around old town – following the red-painted line on the street “read thread”. The red thread is a self-guided walking tour that walks you through the heart of Hannover, containing 36 stops showing the best of the city.

4/ Visit Museum of Modern Art (which I didn’t have the time to do but I trust the words of my dear friend Mette, who said it was amazing!) On Friday Hannover’s museums are free.

5/ Walk around the biggest city forest in Europe

6/ Go design & vintage shopping:

-best vintage, second hand shop – Mooi moin

-best design shop – Baert concept store

-best affordable design shop – Sosterne grene (I brought a lamp back home with me!)

-best flower shop – Indigo Blumenladen

7/ Visit Herrenhausen gardens (the urban jungle paradise with beautiful cactus zone!)

8/ Have a dinner at Boca Gastrobar (amazing taste and food styling!) or  Guru (Indian food) or Pier 51 (incredible lake view!)

9/ Walk around Maschsee lake with plenty of cafes and beer gardens on the way.

10 /…and of course visit Domotex if you are around in January for the biggest rug and flooring inspiration on Earth. (Psst – If you are there on the last day you can get a really good deal on the rugs!)

What’s your favourite thing to do in Hannover? Let me know and I will add it to the list!!
